Where is The Stream Flowing?

Mission Statement:

Transforming lives by the power of God's Spirit, love, grace, and truth.

Our mission statement essentially illustrates the Great Commission command of Matthew 28:18-20 to transform people's lives by making disciples and teaching them to obey all that Jesus commanded. The initial phrase "Transforming lives" reflects Colossians 1:28-29 where the Apostle Paul indicates that the purpose of his ministry was to help people to know and become like Jesus Christ. The initial phrase of our mission statement also comes out of Romans 12:1-2:

"Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

Our mission statement emphasizes complete reliance on God himself because the transformation we aim to bring to people's lives can only occur "by the power of God's Spirit, love, grace, and truth." Ultimately, God is the only one who can transform people's lives, but he often uses his people to bring about his transforming work. This transforming work begins as we come into a relationship with Jesus Christ and it continues as a growth process over time - both as we seek to know and follow God and as God works in us (Philippians 2:12-13).

Vision Statement:

Making an impact on the world by transforming...

Individuals, Families, Neighborhoods, Communities, Las Vegas, The Southwest U.S., The U.S.A., and The nations

...by the power of God's Spirit, love, grace, and truth.
